In an effort to excite college students about writing and in celebration of the National Day on Writing, the Lakeland English Department will host a Writing Carnival on Tuesday, October 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the A building atrium.
Graffiti, blogging, haiku and open mic poetry readings are among the creative outlets at the college's third annual Writing Carnival.
This year's carnival also features a book signing by Regina Brett, author of the New York Times bestseller "God Never Blinks: 50 lessons for Life's Little Detours."
The National Day on Writing is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English.
